China Day 6

First of all let me thank you for all of your prayers and kind words. I am sorry I have not replied to every single person...please know I have read every comment, FB post, email, and text. Each one is an encouragement to me and most of them have made me cry :) The emotions around here are still high...from all of us. Aaron and I go from pure delight at the changes we are seeing in little YuanYuan already, to complete humbleness that God would think us worthy to be this child's parents. There is also deep concern for his health though. Can I say concern, and not fear? Because we are not fearful, praise God! His condition is severe. Sometimes he is so lethargic I just watch him closely for each breath. But I know, that I know, that I know, that He is my son and God has a plan for his life. His life has meaning and purpose. And I trust that it will bring Glory to the Father.

Mr JT slept all night last night. Wow, what a difference a good nights sleep makes! He woke up content, and with oxygen stats in the low 70's. His fingers and toes are always slightly blue, but he has not been near as blue/purple as he was the first day.

Today he ate his formula/cracker concoction 3 times, 3 jars of baby food plus a small portion of mashed potatoes from KFC. We are feeding him these things separately so his meals are small and frequent (to conserve his energy). So far he has liked every baby food I have given him, but he does not take anything from me unless it is in a spoon. I'm not thinking he has ever had the opportunity to feed himself or take solid food from anyone.

At this point we are just waiting on paperwork to be processed, so after a delicious breakfast at the hotel this morning, our guide took us to the big Wild Goose pagoda and the Xi'an history museum.

The big Wild goose pagoda is an ancient Buddhist  temple. No, we are not thinking of converting. We are just learning a lot about the history of our children's birth country. To my CC friends, we couldn't help but sing the Hinduism/Buddhism song several times :) This was a pretty cool field trip, don't you think?

We got to see some real life monks, some incense burning, people in the midst of worship to Buddha, and many, many different statues of the big bellied man. I couldn't help but quietly sing praises to My God as we observed the rituals and worship of the statue. YouYou, in her not so quiet way, made her beliefs perfectly clear. She kept asking our guide, " Are we going to see more Buddha's?" This was then followed by, ""Why again they worship a statue? Don't they know a statue can't do everything like God  can!"

Aaron and he boys actually took the steps all the way up to the top of this pagoda!

After the pagoda, we had lunch and then went to the history museum, per Aaron's request :) It was very interesting seeing all of the artifacts found from so long ago, bit but his time John Thomas had pretty much shut down and was ready for a nap. I kept him close to me in the carrier.

Once we got back to the hotel, my boy and I laid down for a nap. And after the nap, well you can see what happened in the video below! He was like a new child! He finally decided mom wasn't too bad and we played like this for about 30 minutes.

Tomorrow we go to see the Terracotta Warriors! We are all looking forward to this.

Now to try to sleep...
